TOKYO, 28 Sept - Samoa coach Vaeluaga Steve Jackson has made four changes to the team that beat Russia in the first round of matches at Rugby World Cup 2019 for the game against Scotland at Kobe Misaki Stadium on Monday, with captain Jack Lam returning at number eight to replace the injured Afaesetiti Amosa.

Amosa injured his knee in the 34-9 win over Russia and has been forced out of the World Cup. He has been replaced in the squad by Alamanda Motuga, who was not selected for this match.

Lam, above, who captained Samoa in five tests before this World Cup, has recovered from an eye injury and will be emulating his cousin Pat Lam in 1991 in leading his nation at a Rugby World Cup.

The other changes named are hooker Ray Niuia, who replaces Motu Matuu, scrum-half Melani Matavao, who starts this match after earning his first RWC cap when he came off the bench against Russia, and winger Belgium Tuatagaloa, who comes into the side to cover Alapati Leiua's move into the centres.

Rey Lee-Lo, who played outside-centre against Russia is out after receiving a three-match ban for a dangerous high tackle in that game, and Dwayne Polataivao, who started the game against Russia at scrum-half, is rested.

Chris Vui, who captained the team in Lam's absence against Russia holds his place in the second row, while fly-half Tusi Pisi seeks six points in this match to make him Samoa's all-time leading Rugby World Cup points scorer.
