Selling the Club to potential members


Having a thriving and expanding membership is the key to having a successful club. This is due firstly, to the income that is generated from a loyal membership, secondly, because of the brand awareness that the membership generates in the community and finally, because of the support that is generated by the membership (they are advocates of the brand).

However, the club will need to spend time and effort achieving this, it doesn’t just happen! The first point the club will need to consider is the range of memberships available at the club.

Most of the members will be participants. But there will also be parents, individuals who are interested in the social aspects of the club, students, Vice Presidents, ‘country members’ (members who have moved away from the area but who still have an interest in ‘belonging’) plus associate members who could come from a different sport that uses the rugby club house.
