New Zealand’s Ethan de Groot will appear before an independent Disciplinary Committee in Paris having received a red card, following a review by the Foul Play Review Official, in New Zealand’s Rugby World Cup 2023 Pool A match against Namibia in Toulouse on Friday, 15 September for an offence contrary to Law 9.16 (charging without attempting to grasp the opponent). 

At the player’s request, the hearing will take place on Monday, 18 September. 

The independent Disciplinary Committee that will hear the matter will be chaired by Brenda Heather-Latu (Samoa), joined by former players John Langford (Australia) and Leon Lloyd (England).
