New Zealand's original squad was announced by former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw in Napier on 7 August in front of almost 2,000 locals who were impacted by cyclone Gabrielle, as well as first responders.
Sam Cane captains the All Blacks, lock Samuel Whitelock is playing at his fourth RWC tournament while six players - Aaron Smith, Beauden Barrett, Brodie Retallick, Codie Taylor, Dane Coles, Sam Cane - are involved in their third. Seventeen are playing at their first RWC.
Wing Emoni Narawa was forced home with a back injury before their first game against France, with All Blacks head coach Ian Foster opting to call up an extra loose forward, Crusaders' flanker Ethan Blackadder, as a replacement following their opening 27-13 defeat.
