Czechia kicked off their Rugby Europe Conference 1 North campaign with a 41-21 win against Hungary in Budapest on Saturday.
Hungary led 15-14 at half-time but the physical superiority of Czechia told in the second half as they took all five points back to Prague with them.
The win was only worth four-tenths of a rating point but that was still enough to lift Miroslav Němeček's team up one place in the World Rugby Men’s Rankings powered by Capgemini.
Czechia replace Ukraine in 35th place with Hungary dropping below Chinese Taipei and Bulgaria into 66th as a result of the defeat.
Meanwhile, Serbia recorded their biggest-ever win and score in defeating Montenegro 62-0 in Conference 2 South, but the result did not have any impact on the rankings as Montenegro are not a World Rugby full member union.
