Six matches took place in the Rugby Europe Conference system over the weekend and they had quite an impact on the World Rugby Men’s Rankings powered by Capgemini.

Sweden made it three wins from three in Conference 1 North with their 29-25 win away to Hungary placing them one point behind Czechia, who have an extra bonus point, in the overall standings.

Those two teams will play off for the title in Sweden next Saturday, and despite climbing two places to 42nd for their victory over Hungary, the hosts will be underdogs as there are still six places and a fraction over three rating points between them and their opponents.

Czechia remain in 36th place after a comprehensive 54-17 win over a Latvian side some 10 points and 27 places beneath them.

Dropping down a level to Conference 2, Moldova march up the rankings after beating Denmark 27-19 in Odense. The victory was worth nine-tenths of a point and their new total of 43.04 points takes them above Guyana, Cayman Islands and Israel.

Moldova and Denmark are now level on nine points at the top of the Conference 2 North standings but Moldova have played one game less.

Buoyant Finland take on Moldova next weekend knowing a bonus-point win could see them reach the top of the table.

The Finns will go into the match full of confidence after reaching an all-time high in the rankings of 82nd thanks to a 24-3 win away to Norway. That result saw them climb six places on the back of a 1.2-point gain.

Serbia went two better with a 38-19 win away to Bosnia and Herzegovina lifting them up eight places to 78th. Serbia now trail leaders Bulgaria by two points in the Conference 2 South table.
