Debate has raged long and hard about whether rugby is better in the northern or southern hemisphere and whose players are more skilful and powerful.
So, World Rugby has decided to call on players representing both sides of the argument to settle old scores once and for all by inviting them to take part in a series of must-watch challenges.
World records will come under threat as players push themselves to the limit in tests of speed, agility and accuracy in a new weekly show, The Ultimate Rugby Challenge: North v South.
While the line-up has yet to be officially unveiled, we can reveal that some of the greats of the game will be putting their reputations on the line.
Viewers on YouTube, and all of World Rugby’s other media channels, will be able to check out the progress of two Rugby World Cup winners in both the men’s and women’s competitions as well as one of the players recently named in Warren Gatland’s 37-man British and Irish Lions squad.
In total there will be six episodes, with the first airing at 8pm on Friday 14 May. So tune in to find out which is best – North or South!
