TOKYO, 11 Oct - Scotland have omitted captain Stuart McInally, pictured above, from their starting line-up for Sunday’s decisive Pool A encounter with Japan in Yokohama.

There are 12 changes to the side that started on Wednesday when head coach Gregor Townsend rested the majority of his frontline players who started in the 34-0 win over Samoa to keep them fresh to face Japan.

Fraser Brown, who played the first 30 minutes of Wednesday’s 61-0 win over Russia at open-side flanker, starts at hooker with McInally on the bench.

Sean Maitland has not recovered sufficiently from a groin problem to take a full part in training, so Darcy Graham continues on the left wing, with Tommy Seymour retaining his place on the right wing after playing 80 minutes against Russia.

There are further changes to the 23 that featured in that second pool game among the replacements, where Pete Horne and Blair Kinghorn offer cover in midfield and the back three, ahead of Adam Hastings and Duncan Taylor.
