Six players who played at last year's World Rugby U20 Championship have been included in the Italy squad for the forthcoming tournament in Argentina.

The Azzurrini finished eighth for the second consecutive year in 2018 and will be looking to make further progress with a group that has a blend of youth and experience.

In the front row, prop Matteo Nocera and hooker Niccolo Tadia retain their places, while there are two familiar faces in the back row in Antoine Koffi and captain Davide Ruggeri. Centres Damiano Mazza (pictured) and Matteo Moscardi also featured in France in 2018.

In terms of youth, head coach Fabio Roselli has picked four 18-year-olds in prop Matteo Drudi, centre Federico Mori and back-three players, Cristian Lai and Jacopo Trulla.

Wingers Micheal Mba and Trulla, who both scored three tries apiece in this year's U20 Six Nations are expected to supply the firepower out wide.

"I'm sure this group will do well in the World Cup, and we look forward to starting this new adventure. We have a lot of positivity and we want to prepare ourselves better and show everyone that we are competitive. The goal is to confirm the good results achieved in the last two years at the U20 World Championship, "said Roselli.

Italy line up in Pool B alongside three-time winners England, Oceania U20 champions Australia and U20 Six Nations Grand Slam winners Ireland.
