Tickets for the 2011 NZI Sevens, the third leg in the 2010/11 IRB Sevens World Series, went on sale at 09:00 on Tuesday morning in New Zealand and by 09:04 all tickets on sale to the general public had been snapped up.
Supporters were quick off the mark once again, with all available tickets sold in just three and a half minutes.
2011 will be the 10th year in a row that Westpac Stadium will be at capacity for Wellington’s
biggest event and NZI Sevens General Manager Steve Walters was delighted with the response from fans.
“It is great to see all the hard work invested so far in making next year’s NZI Sevens the best ever rewarded with such strong demand from fans,” he said.
Tickets can be cancelled if they do not adhere to the ticketing terms and conditions for the tournament and as supporters can print tickets from home using TicketFast, selling the same ticket multiple times is possible.
“We know lots of fans missed out on tickets this morning and this means we will take a hard line with ticket-scalpers. People should be wary if they buy tickets from a non-authorised seller," Walters added.
The newest initiative for the 2011 NZI Sevens is for fans to “Let It All Out”. This year 112 lucky fans who display their support and get behind the teams have the chance to be selected in an official cheerleading squad for each of the 16 nations.

The IRB Sevens World Series will kick off in Dubai 3-4 December 2010 with the NZI Sevens the third leg of eight in Wellington on 4-5 February 2011.
