The Kenyan Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) are undertaking a firm commitment to promote the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy and as Host Broadcaster will be covering all 16 matches in this international tournament which starts in Nairobi on Tuesday.

Eight teams will contest the Under 20 tournament with hosts Kenya, USA, Namibia and Cayman Islands drawn in Pool A and 2008 runners up Chile, Romania, Papua New Guinea and Korea in Pool B with the top sides to meet in the final.

"It is great for this tournament that such a prestigious company will film all 16 matches, ensuring the game of rugby reaches an incredibly large audience," said IRB Tournaments Manager Philippe Bourdarias.

"Their commitment and support underpins the growth and development of rugby in Kenya and must be applauded."

KBC will show two games live on the opening match day on Tuesday 21 April. At 12:00 local time noon Papua New Guinea and Romania will get the second IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy underway at Impala, kicking off a free-to-air television coverage of no precedence in this event.

The final match of the day, kicking off at 16:15, is the all-African affair between the Kenyan Chipu, as the hosts are known, at RFUEA Ground. This match will be broadcast live with six cameras.

There are four matches on each of the four playing days and two of these will be shown live by KBC with the other two broadcast at a time to be decided. Kenya's three pool matches will all be broadcast live on KBC, while every team will be shown live at least once during the tournament.

The commitment of KBC - a state corporation committed to excellence in broadcast services - will also extend to non-sports related shows, to which representatives from the visiting teams and officials will be invited.
