Former Kenya captain Innocent Simiyu will take charge of the men's national sevens side after signing a two-year contract with the union. 

The 33-year-old, who captained both Kenya men's sevens and 15s sides, will replace Benjamin Ayimba as head coach and will start his tenure at the HSBC Dubai Sevens which kicks off on 3 December. 

Kenya finished seventh overall in the 2015-16 edition of the series, winning their first ever Cup in Singapore after beating Fiji 30-7. Kenya will start their 2016-17 campaign against Australia, France and Japan in Pool D.
