Rugby World Cup Ltd (RWCL) and Rugby Travel and Hospitality ’07 Ltd (RTH’07) are pleased to announce the appointed Official Travel Agents (OTAs) and Official Corporate Hospitality Agents (OCHAs) for Rugby World Cup 2007.
The agent appointments follow a comprehensive tender evaluation and selection process. The appointed agents will ensure rugby supporters from around the world are offered a choice of travel and/or hospitality packages in terms of content and price.
Rugby World Cup is now one of the largest sporting events in the world. RWC 2007 will be the sixth Tournament and will represent the 20-year anniversary of the event. The Tournament continues to grow in popularity and support every four years and represents a vital source of revenue for the development of the game worldwide.
Managing Director of Rugby World Cup Ltd Mike Miller said, “We are delighted that we now have on board the Official Travel Agents and Corporate Hospitality Agents for RWC 2007. This is a key step in the ticketing programme of the Tournament and the announcement so far in advance of the Tournament is another indication that we are on track to deliver a great Rugby World Cup.”
“The OTAs and OCHAs have met rigorous selection criteria and are able to guarantee the delivery of Tournament match tickets. Rugby World Cup Limited would like to emphasise to all rugby supporters who wish to acquire a travel or hospitality package that the OTAs and OCHAs are the only entities officially entitled to provide packages of tickets combined with travel or hospitality to Rugby World Cup 2007.”
“Supporters obtaining tickets from unofficial sources should be aware that they run the risk of having those tickets cancelled, being refused entry or being rejected from the stadium,” added Mr Miller.
Andrew Burton, Chief Operating Officer of RTH’07 Ltd stated, “RWCL, RTH’07 and the appointed agents are all committed to providing the best possible service and Tournament experience for rugby supporters throughout the world who will travel to Rugby World Cup 2007. The first official travel packages for RWC 2007 will go on sale from January 1, 2006. The Corporate Hospitality programme will be launched on 1st March 2006.”
