•    Applications are open for a variety of volunteer positions across Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027, taking place in Australia from 1 October – 13 November 2027.

Applications are now open for Team27, the official Volunteer Program of Men's Rugby World Cup 2027, giving people across Australia the opportunity to help deliver the biggest edition of the tournament ever staged with 24 nations competing across 52 matches.

This launch marks the beginning of the volunteer journey, inviting Australian residents to go all out, welcome the world, represent their Host Cities and contribute to the delivery of rugby’s biggest global event.

Across Men's Rugby World Cup 2027, approximately 3,500 volunteers will be recruited to provide support in each of the tournament's seven Host Cities: Adelaide | Tarntanya, Brisbane | Meeanjin, Melbourne | Narrm, Newcastle | Awabakal-Worimi, Perth | Boorloo, Sydney | Gadigal and Townsville | Gurambilbarra. 

Volunteers will support key areas including customer service, fan experience and tournament operations, playing a vital role in welcoming fans, teams and visitors from around the world while creating unforgettable experiences.

A unique opportunity to be part of a once-in-a-generation event

Supporting more than 13 functional areas including transport, accommodation, media operations, fan festivals and tournament venues, Men's RWC 2027 volunteers will play a pivotal role in contributing to the successful delivery of rugby union's pinnacle tournament. 

The Team27 Volunteer Program is open to those with Australian working rights over the age of 18*, from rugby fans and event seekers to those who are new to the sport. Previous volunteering or major event experience is not required, with enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment at the heart of the Program.

All successful candidates will receive training and official Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 uniform before the tournament. Through welcome events, training, recognition activities and shared experiences, every volunteer will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills, expand their personal and professional network, connect with others and contribute to one of the world's largest sporting events.

Volunteer applications will close at 23:59 AEST on 1 October 2026.

*To volunteer in Australia, all successful applicants must be either an Australian citizen, permanent resident or obtain a current visa with working rights that allow volunteering. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age by 1 April 2027 in order to volunteer with Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027.

The volunteers behind Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 will form 'Team27', brought to life with seven Host City volunteer teams.

Each Host City volunteer team represents its own unique identity inspired by animals, stories and connections to First Nations heritage, culture and environments of the communities they represent.
