Name: Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
Location: Port Elizabeth
Capacity: 48,459
The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium was built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which was hosted by South Africa. The stadium which has an eye-catching, unique roof-structure and spectacle view hosted eight matches including the Netherlands' 2-1 victory against Brazil in the quarter-finals and the third place play-off between Uruguay and Germany.
The roof is made up of a series of white 'petals' making it look like a flower and is the reason behind its nickname - The Sunflower.
The stadium also hosts Currie Cup and Vodacorn Cup matches, and on 16 June 2009 it welcomed the British and Irish Lions in a match against the Southern Kings.
England's Mat Turner, who won the player of the tournament in Dubai, played for the Kings on the wing in a 20-8 defeat.
On 20 August this year it also hosted its first rugby test, between South Africa and New Zealand in the fifth match oft he 2011 Tri Nations Series.
"I was here when the All Blacks played the Boks here and the atmosphere in the stadium was just unbelievable," said South Africa Sevens coach Paul Treu. "I really think that it's an awesome venue in terms of the facility, the location and the whole vibe that you get in there. It can compete with the very best in the world.
"We had some good memories in George but sometimes the time is right to move on, this is now Port Elizabeth's opportunity and I think they're going to grasp it with both hands.
"It's a new challenge, a new venue with new perspectives and new goals, and hopefully we can get the stadium to fill up to capacity over the next couple of years."
It is approximately 40m high and is named after the administrative district which the stadium is within, the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality.
Neil Diamond, a crowd favourite at the Hong Kong Sevens, has also performed in concert at the stadium, and the Miss World Sports Event of the Miss World 2009 pageant also took place here.
