Welcome to the World Rugby Hall of Fame. When William Webb Ellis, a pupil of Rugby School, caught the ball and ran with it, no-one could have predicted what would happen. Today, rugby is a global sport with more than 10 million players in 128 countries in membership of World Rugby. What follows here is a celebration of those that have inspired and developed the game from those humble origins to the character-building sport it is today.
