Las Vegas is set for three days of non-stop rugby next month as the men’s and women’s sevens schedule was announced by World Rugby.

The third round of the HSBC World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series will kick off the action on Friday morning, 3 March, with the fifth round of the men’s series getting underway later that day.

The women’s final will take place on Saturday evening with the men’s tournament ensuring the tournament reaches a crescendo on Sunday evening at the Sam Boyd Stadium.

USA's women will get the action underway on Friday morning when they take on Ireland, while reigning men’s series champions Fiji face Japan in the opening men’s game that afternoon. (GMT – 8)

Current men’s series leaders South Africa will be looking to make it three tournament wins in a row in Vegas as they face Wales, France and Canada in Pool A.

It’s the first time the women’s tournament visits the Nevada stadium, with New Zealand leading Australia in the standings by four points. Canada, who claimed top prize at the second round of the series in Sydney, will be looking to back up their impressive performance while USA, runners-up in Sydney, will be looking to build on their current form when they run out on home soil.

Las Vegas tournament director Jon Hinkin said: “We are thrilled to partner with World Rugby, USA Rugby and the city of Las Vegas to host the men’s and women’s tournaments this year. With over 80 matches, the 2017 event promises to be the most memorable to date."
