In terms of player appearances and points scored, Italy, who have appeared in all four IRB Nations Cups, sit at the top of the statistics tables according to the International Rugby Board's official database.

The database has identified Italian hooker Luigi Ferraro as the player with most IRB Nations Cup appearances, having played in all four tournaments since the Cup was launched in 2006. He started in eight of the 10 Italy A tournament matches, with 2009 teammate and captain Antonio Pavanello also a veteran of four Nations Cups.

Italy's Luciano Orquera, who played in six matches in 2006 and 2007, is the leading points scorer with 64, while Tomas de Vedia of Argentina A with four tries in a tournament is the all-time leading try scorer. Two players have scored try hat-tricks at the Nations Cup - Tomas de Vedia (Argentina A) against Russia in 2006 and Marius Delport (Emerging Springboks) against Georgia in 2007.

According to the IRB database - known as the Rugby International Management System - Italian referee Carlo Damasco, with four matches, has refereed more Nations Cup matches than any other referee, with Frances Alan Falzone and Romain Poite and Romania's Radu Petrescu all taking charge of three matches.
