The Romanians, said coach Adrian Costache, have recovered from the disappointment of losing to Chile, which he attributed to a few mistakes and, significantly, the loss of captain Ionel Cazan with concussion after about 20 minutes of play.
"Cazan's departure was a major factor in the loss of direction against Chile. However, this is history now. The match against Georgia is a new challenge and we must play to win. The boys know how difficult this is going to be and will do their best. Georgians are very physical and we expect a strong challenge up front." he added.
The injury of the charismatic Cazan brought about a reshuffle of the back division, with scrum half and utility player Valentin Ivan moving into centre, and Mihaita Zainea slotting in at number nine.
Robert Topala and Georgel Catuna start at full back and right wing respectively. There is only one change in the pack, with hooker Nichita Iacob replacing livewire Eduard Marinca, who drops to the bench.
Significantly, in the scrum the Romanians can count on a giant and unchanged back-five, with the captaincy reverting to Alex Valcu for the second time in the tournament.
Georgia felt the need to beef up their pack, mauled by the Uruguay in their last match, and have replaced their hooker, tight-head prop and one of the locks, with one positional change which sees lock forward David Chichua moved to open side.
Vasil Kakovin starts at hooker, GiorgiToradze at tight head and Beka Nikolashvili at lock forward.
There are also wholesale changes in the back division with a new full back - Vakhtang Kavtidze, and two new centres - Beka Tsiklauri and Giga Korkelia.
