Allan Bunting, head coach

On the victory over Ireland:

"Job done, pretty proud of that one, Scott [Bemand] and the Irish ladies really threw everything at us and put us under a lot of pressure.

"We were formidable on D, we didn't want to let them past and that's what it's going to take to go further in this competition. Really proud of that, and also of how clinical our ladies were too.

"We'll enjoy this moment. There are things that we can build off to be a bit better for next week."

Kennedy Tukuafu

On the match:

"I'm really proud of the girls, we go away each week and just get better and better and I'm glad we got to display that today.

"It was about giving Ireland the respect they deserve. They're a classy team, they're really clinical in their maul and the set-piece and we made sure we targeted that and then gave it to the power in the backs, and some of our forwards also got tries today, which is awesome."

On the quarter-finals:

"It's really exciting. We'd be really excited to meet the South Africans; obviously our men have a really strong rivalry with them. We've spoken about the courage that they would have (if we play them). We'd have to match up physically and get mentally tough."

Sylvia Brunt, Mastercard Player of the Match

On her performance:

"First of all I want praise and glorify our heavenly father, I couldn't be here without him and I also want to say happy Father's Day back home to my dad and all my uncles! It feels really good, I couldn't have done it without them and without my team.

"We spoke about celebrating every win and I enjoyed that with the team. We have a saying 'with you, with me' and that is something that we take through the tournament.

"Very grateful to be in the quarter-finals. We've just been going game by game so looking forward to it."

Risi Pouri-Lane

On winning against Ireland:

"It feels amazing, we’ve been waiting for things to start to come together for us and we saw a little of that today. We started from the get-go from the haka and I could feel the energy in the stadium. I’m really proud of the girls, it takes the whole 80 minutes and it takes the whole squad for us to get over the line. To see things start to come together is very rewarding for us."

On the rivalry between New Zealand and Ireland:

"Going into the game, we don’t think about the history of the rivalry between us. We know it’s strong, we know it’s there and we know that Ireland are going to show up. We focused on us and prepared this week."

On the support from the crowd:

"It’s heartwarming and I like to be able to look out and see a sea of green but still see the black stand out. We’ve got heaps of family here in the crowd and we know that we have family supporting us whether they’re here or not."

When asked about the haka stare-down pre-match:

"I was actually just waiting for our captain and our leaders to say hands down, but it didn’t come. It felt fierce and I felt that the game was going to be intense, that it was going to be physical and have everything. I knew that the feeling in the group was that we were ready and Ireland were ready as well. I’ve never actually felt anything like that before."

Braxton Sorensen-McGee

On the media attention:

"It doesn’t really bother me, just taking it as it comes. I don’t really think about it; I can celebrate the moment right now but then we’re back into next week."
