Brian Lima made history when he appeared at a record fifth Rugby World Cup tournament at France 2007, an incredible feat since matched by Italian back-row Mauro Bergamasco.

At 19 years and 255 days he became the youngest player to appear in a RWC when he made his tournament bow in 1991 – the year that Western Samoa famously defeated Wales to put themselves firmly on the international rugby map.

Known as ‘The Chiropractor’ for his shuddering big hits, Lima broke a number of other records during a 16-year international career. He remains Samoa’s top try scorer with 31, 29 of them in tests, and their most-capped player (64). 

Lima captained Samoa twice, against Fiji and the Junior All Blacks in 2007, and also appeared in three Rugby World Cup Sevens tournaments. He also won the Super Rugby and the French Top 14 titles in his first seasons at the Blues and Stade Français.
