LONDON, 7 Oct – Agustín Ormaechea (Uruguay) was sent off during Uruguay’s match against Fiji on 6 October having received two yellow cards for acts of foul play contrary to Laws 10.4(e) (dangerous tackling) and 10.4(f) (playing an opponent without the ball). The player received no further sanction in addition to the on field red card and is therefore free to play in Uruguay’s final Pool A match against England on 10 October.

Having conducted a detailed review of all the available evidence, including all camera angles, evidence and submissions from the player, the Judicial Officer Roger Morris (Wales) decided that no further sanction beyond the on field red card was necessary.

The player is free to play in Uruguay’s final Pool A match against England on 10 October.

The player has 48 hours in which to appeal from receipt of the written decision.
